In our household education is what happens when you're having fun.

I'm not keen on group stuff much either. The preschooler, baby and I go on adventures - even sometimes just round the corner from home - and we have so much fun. Even as the children get older I'm resisting the 'need' for after-school clubs and tutoring that I see other parents arranging for their children. W'd rather go exploring in the fields, collecting things. We also have an adventure bag (our Go Bag) and I love your idea of sticking badges on it - what a lovely way to remember what you've done.
