There’s loads of spooky events going on up and down the country this Halloween; they’re perfect for banishing all of those back to school blues! Whether you want to scare yourself silly on some of the world’s best roller coasters or enjoy a fabulous firework display, there’s something for everyone. Check out our list of some of the most amazing events going on this October.
The LEGOLAND® Windsor Resort
26th and 27th October, 1st and 2nd November.
LEGOLAND’s spectacular firework show is back with a bang this October. The best place to view the fireworks is from the top of the hill; wrap up warm, grab a hot drink from Papa Moles coffee shop, and sit back and enjoy the show. Watch in awe as the night’s sky is lit up, and keep an eye out for some very special surprises!

THORPE PARK’s epic Fright Nights is back this Halloween and this year there’s added scares. THORPE PARK have teamed up with Lionsgate Films, the masterminds behind The Blair Witch Project, Cabin in the Woods and the terrifying SAW films. Feeling fearless? Wander through live action horror mazes — but be warned, there might be something lurking in the darkness. Plus enjoy all of your favourite thrill rides under the cover of darkness, there’s something to get everyone’s adrenaline pumping.
Alton Towers Resort
19th October — 3rd November and 8th — 10th November.
The fantastic Scarefest is making its return to Alton Towers this October and November. Brace yourself and face four terrifyingly themed scare mazes. From zombies to eerie clowns, Scarefest’s mazes are guaranteed to generate a scream from even the hardiest of scare-fans. If you’re after gentler thrills, check out the firework spectacular on November 8th — 10th. Set against the beautiful Towers and with your favourite roller coasters as a backdrop, the Alton Towers fireworks are like nothing you’ve seen before.
Chessington World of Adventures Resort
19th October — 3rd November.
Halloween Hocus Pocus returns to Chessington, and there’s plenty of spooky family fun to enjoy. New for 2013, explore the new mystery of Hocus Pocus Hall, venture through the Transylvanian village of Black Hollow, plus enjoy special Halloween-themed shows and ride all of your favourite rides in the dark. For younger visitors, there’s also the chance to meet some creepy crawlies and strange animals — find out how they’re not so spooky after all!
24th October — 2nd November.
Experience Halloween at Britain’s ultimate castle this year. There’s family fun and events for the bravest of thrill-seekers alike — witness a spooky séance, walk through the haunted trail in the castle’s grounds, and venture deep into the Castle Dungeon. Plus loads more, including the daily shows and tours, and a top secret attraction for 2013! There’s loads of spooky surprises in store, so make sure you enjoy everything that the haunted castle has to offer. Additional charges may apply.
The Eden Project
26th October — 3rd November.
Celebrate ‘Halloweden’ at the Eden Project this October and take part in a number of exciting workshops and activities for all of the family to enjoy. Brew a magic potion and make Room on the Broom for a special Halloween disco (29th, 30th October). For the bravest of thrill-seekers, on the 30th and 31st of October you can also venture deep into the haunted biomes and awaken the spirits of the rainforest — if you dare!
